The Good and the Bad

Let me start with the good. This is a pretty nice place to live. It is cheaper than living at one of the Meridian buildings by King St or in Arlington. It is close to the Metro, Old Town, and a short drive into DC. I have found that the maintenance staff are responsive and friendly when there is a major problems. Smaller issues take a few days, but I guess that is to be expected. Overall I found the staff in the management office to be helpful. One thing to be careful of is that if you get two parking spaces they will be tandam (we were not informed of this when we signed our lease). When we asked management to let us have seperate spaces we were charged an extra $25/month.
And the bad. With the exception of Tyrone, I find the front desk staff to be rude and difficult to deal with. If you pick up a package at night or on the weekend you are treated like a burden (you are usually interrupting their personal phone calls). In a way this is like living in a dorm. You have students running all over the place. Generally I can't hear my neighbors and only see them in the lobby and at the gym. But if you except a quiet workout facility during the school-year, forget it. It is like being back at my college gym. One thing that has really bothered me is that since I am only 25 years old (but a professional) the staff often confuse me as a student resident, and therefore think that they have a license to not take me seriously. I can't even explain the difference of service when I come home from work in a tie versus wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
Overall, this wasn't a bad place for someone who just moved to DC. My lease is up in June and I'm moving into the district so I can have more to do.
