We've lived here a year & a half. We moved from a newer apartment in Alexandria that turned out to be a disaster.
We like the "no pet" policy -- we're not antipet, just anti-pet owner who won't clean up after fido leaves his nuggets everywhere. Meridian grounds are super clean and attractive.
Although there is currently lots of construction in the area, and will be getting worse -- this is the quietest apartment we've lived in. We never hear our neighbors -- no loud TVs, no bass booming our internal organs, and very few young children.
The apartments are very bright with the floor to ceiling windows. The eat in kitchen is an added plus, and the bayed windows are a nice feature.
I've seen negatives comments about the staff; however, my experience has been very positive. We've found them friendly, helpful, and competent. The maintenance staff is alwys avail and I have waited no more than 2 hours to have a repair made.
The parking garage is secure and keeps the vehicle out of the weather. My granddaughters come to visit often in the summer because they love the pool. The pool area is kept immaculate.
The resident parties are great, and the food that they serve in unbelieveable. The rent is higher than most; however, it keeps the riff-raff away.
Overall, the Meridian at Carlyle is a great place to live -- and a two block walk to the Metro, restaurants within walking distance, a park and Civil War cemetary to walk in across the street, and 4 blocks to Old Towne make it especially nice.
