3 Great Months, more to come!

Moved into the Meridian "sight-unseen" based on reviews on this board. Now that I've been here a few months, here are my observations.

1st, RE construction and other noise: with an east facing apartment I never hear construction and only hear road noise if I leave my window open. I generally don't hear my neighbors unless the ones above me move furniture.

2nd, RE management & concierge: Michelle the manager has been very helpful and seems professional. I'll miss Kaylee, a leasing agent who had been here for a long time, but she was promoted to manage at another property, so who can blame her. There are some new leasing agents who seem to want to be helpful, so I'm certain that they will learn quickly. The concierge staff is great, but it would be more convenient if the front desk was staffed earlier in the morning.

3rd, RE residents: ALL that I have met have been professionals and nice people. All have been polite or cordial, if not incredibly outgoing and friendly, but, what can one expect, everyone is so busy. Compared to other places I've lived I feel most comfortable with the residents here.

4th, RE onsite recreation: This is the one area that I really wish were improved. Specifically, the gym doesn't open until 6am, and it is busy every afternoon. I have not used the putting green, but the pool is nice and never seems too busy.

5th, RE Ratings: I choose not to keep a car, with the free bus pass and discounted metro, I don't need one. As mentioned above, noise is not a problem. The entire property is beautiful and kept well maintained. I feel very safe here. All of the management and staff have been very helpful. Some of the leasing agents are new and inexperienced, but weren't we all at one time' Other than the windows, which are great, the finishes (cabinets, vinyl, and carpeting) are about the cheapest possible. On the plus side, that means that when they get worn they are replaced. My carpet and kitchen flooring were both brand new when I moved in!

6th, RE rent: It is expensive, but you get what you pay for in terms of location, atmosphere, and amenities.

Overall, in my opinion, the Meridian is the highest rated apartment complex for a good reason! Living here really is that nice!

Finally, no I do not work for the Meridian, I am a real resident since May 2006.
