I like living here. The rooms are bright, and having a place that faces the park on the 10th floor gives the illusion that the apartment is brighter and spacier than it really is. THAT IS OK IN MY BOOK. From our apartment, I can see at least 7 fireworks displays on July 4th. Two or three up close, and 5 or 6 a distance away on the horizon. Its fun too to suddenly look out your window on a non-holiday and see fireworks in progress. King Street really hops sometimes. THAT IS OK IN MY BOOK AS WELL.
I have to say when building parties are thrown, the staff at the Meridan are generous with the portions of food provided. You may say this is a small thing to write about, but I lived in an apartment called the New Yorker on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, and they used to give you a thimble for october fest, and a slice of sausage. In Arlington I lived at the Parc Vista the management had nothing but one tray with 'meatballs.' Yes, nothing but meatballs. The staff here at the Meridian at Caryle provide a meal everytime. THAT IS OK IN MY BOOK TOO.
By the way, one block from the Meridian is a Starbucks. This is not just any Starbucks, for the staff at this location are not only friendly, but they keep a clean establishment, a clean bathroom, they learn your name, and on more than one occasion they have made my drink BEFORE I HAVE EVEN WALKED IN THE DOOR. What's more the people who live in this part of town are friendly, and I have engaged in more than one Saturday Morning conversation. Just like a small town. THIS IS OK IN MY BOOK AS WELL.
Back to the Meridian Staff - our air conditioning went out. Did they let us sweat for the next three days' NO! They moved us to another apartment until the problem was fixed. WAY BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY.
Do I like this place' YES.
I have only one criticism is that one Saturday Morning I was out walking and the police were trying to gain access to the building. I came up to the them and used my access card to let them in. My only concern if someone is not on duty at the desk HOW do the emergency services get into the building. Especially if you are dead, or are unconscious.
Anyway, STILL LIKE THE PLACE.
