That there have not been ANY reviews of Millbrook since July 22. Have all reviews on Millbrook been stopped given the bad reviews'
Sadly, I too have grave concerns about the property. When we moved in in early 2005, the staff were tremendous. Now that we have gone through the sale of Phase II (which is now Town Square at Millbrook), sadly I have to agree with most of what's being reviewed.
The trash compactor has been turned to the off position and we can no longer compact the trash ourselves. As a result, when the chute becomes full, it overflows and a mound of trash is created. Thankfully I didn't come across any rodents or bugs but I have no doubts that they weren't far away. I had heard some of the grumblings that we are now being slugged with a $15 p/month fee for trash disposal when the new leases come around. I have to ask what that amount is for' The priviledge of dumping trash at the compactor'
While maintenence used to be carried out within 24 hours without issue, it is now not unusual to have to wait 3-5 days to have something fixed.
Regarding the fire alarms, for some reason, they will intermittently go off for no apparent reason. More often than not, it's around the time you're getting ready. I'm thankful that it's loud enough to alert you when your sleeping but that peircing noise is pretty bad.
It is sad that such a wonderful community has deteriorated at such a rate. We can only live in hope that it improves.
Please allow me to share my reasoning of my review below:
Parking - adequate if you have basement parking. Difficult for any visitor, especially when residents park out the front of the building.
Noise level - thankfully not too bad. Being on the top level, we don't have anyone above us. Sorry to those below us then but we haven't had an issue except for when you're using your insinkorator.
Grounds - still pretty good except for the trash disposal area.
Safety - good except for when the gates to the community have been hit by vehicles or are stuck open.
Construction - Okay but nothing that would make you want to invest in the property (if and when they go Condo).
Maintenance - Used to be great. Service within 24 hours but now is severely lacking in my current experience.
Office Staff - as above. Used to be phenominal but now since the takeover, the less said the better.
Overall - Of late, I am left very disappointed and could not consiously recommend.
I have tried to be as objective as I can but remember, these are my own personal opinions.

Millbrook uses National Water and Power to pass through our share of the water bills.
Since they took over the price of water has gone up by over 185% and the price of sewer by 58%.
Since water and sewer are provide to Millbrook by a regulated water utility, I find it hard to believe that the underlying proces have gone up by that much.

We have just received our NWP bill and noticed the significant jump as well. Thanks for softening the blow Hugh.
