Moved into Millbrooke in 2006 thought it was nice until I could not work anymore, And really got to see what I had been paying for. All of 2008 the lawn was brown and unkept. The sprinklers came on each morning early and would spray my freshly detailed car leaving horrible water spots. My bedroom was always to cold in the winter and too hot in the summer, even though the rest of the apartment felt fine. I had insects crawling up from the drains and would fly around the apartment I beleive they are called fruit flies. People would jump over the fence and swim naked after the pool closed this was nice. The gates worked for the first month there then someone literally tore them down with thier vehicle not fixed for about a eight months. Cars are broken into regularly even though this is suppose to be a so called gated community. No hot water in the winter. People smoke in the elevators all the time no placards informing its against the law to smoke in elevators posted.
The garbage piles up on the weekend which brings rats and rackoons out the size of small dogs. The maintainance people are nice.
For the rent paid which does not include utilites you can do way, way better else where.
Managment is know charging for parking in this dump $15.00 dollars a car save your money and park across the street.
Managment will fine you 500.00 dollars if you keep your bike on the patio or any type of storage container.
The traffic in the neighborhood is horrible, constant accidents my auto insurance premiums where raised when I moved here because of all the accidents on N. Bueregard.
The person living above me is either running a gym or raising Shetland ponies.
Lease is ending and so is my hell I am out of here like a shot.

While a normally agree with most reviews, I find this one [written by techguy2] mostly - but not totally - correct, and a little harsh. But, I share your frustration. The problem is not so much the local management office as it is the corporate management. They seem to have a policy not to invest any of their profits from rents back into the complex. I AM THINKING IT IS TIME TO ORGANIZE A RENTERS ASSOCIATION to insure contracted for rights and services are legally enforced by the renters. The owners seem to have little problem bullying us. Maybe it is time we address their hard handed methods. They seem to have lost total understanding of thebuyer-seller relationship. CAVEAT VENDITOR - Let the seller beware!!

Which part do you not agree with the rats, rackoons, noise, cost, insects, new parking fees, too hell with a renters association just do like me and get the hell out because believe me every time I see the staff walking a new prospective tenant I want to run up to them and say don't even bother looking at the place its a dump but the neighbors are for the most part very nice people.

I'm rather stuck because I have a lease that's not up for awhile and it costs money to move. I'm new to the area and single, so it's not like I have a bunch a friends with trucks to help me, so moving isn't an easy option. I'd LOVE a renter's association!!! My experience has been a litle better, no bugs and I live on a top floor (but have loud downstairs neighbors). It'll take some go-getters to get some people together, but I think there are enough renters who've had ENOUGH to form an association!!! Great idea. Let's get going!!
