I've been reading the comments and I agree with the negative ones. My roommate and I have had to fight managment every step to get anything foxed or resolved. The neighbors have about 4 kids, all under 10, who roam the area until after I go to bed (about 11:00pm). There is no rescycling, the trash area is just a letter "T" i the parking lot. We got a notice that they are going to fumigate the building (I have not seen any infestation problems). The notice was found on my front door on the friday prior to fumigation on monday alerting us to such. We tried to call maintenance to get more info, they are closed until Monday. We called the front desk and they didn't have a clue about the fumigation!!''.

I say let's protest against this apartment complex. I cannot wait until my lease is up. I'm outta here. Everything is ala carte. Rent is too high for what they offer. Customer Service is horrible. There were many times I had a few choice words for the Staff. Also, the walls are paper thin. I cannot stand my place of resident. I am not comfortable or safe. Now, what the hell is the courtesy patrol going to do. They need to quit hiring these High School children to be patrolman

I hate it here too. I just posted a review for the 31 of August. I am miserable and do not feel safe. I am half afraid to go to sleep at night and the apartment was filthy and roach infested. I will not even use the dishwasher or store any food in the kitchen. I wrapped my refrigerator door handles in plastic so I would not have to touch them. All of my food items are in bins in the dining room. I gave a 2 page letter along with my housing inspection report explaining all the problems and the guy in the office was rude and pretty much blew me off and avoided me. It is sink or swim around here. It is appaling that anyone should have to live this way! No overhead lights in the bedrooms, no outdoor lights on the patios; that's safe for crime! I had two people just walk right in my apartment thefirst week I was here! SCARY! I don't even answer the door now! YEESH!

You should be happy that they wanted to fumigate the building even though you didn't have a problem. What more information could they have given you. You know what a fumgation is. If you talk to the staff like they are a piece of crap, they will treat you like one in return, try being nice and see what you get. Also it is obvious that the area is not the upscale version of fairfax county, but obviously you can't afford to live in the upscale community so thats why you live here, as well as the rest of the people who live here. Get off your high horse, if they gave you a mansion you'd complain too. Most newer apartments don't have lights in the bedroom, and if you would like a light on your patio, why don't you call maintenance to see if you can get one. Everyone seems to be complaining about roaches so i'm going to exterminate my apartment, so that they don't come my way!

For your information my husband is an Officer in the Air Force assigned on special mission to the Pentagon and I am am working on my masters of science in Nursing! Believe me we easily make over 75,000 a year. being in the Air Force we anticipate getting base housing because we move so often (every 2 to 3 years so why buy a half million dollar home which YES, we could afford, just don't want to get tied into a mortgage that large for only a couple years, DUH!)! Base housing has a waiting list and so those on the list have two referral choices for Military Set Aside Program, one in Woodbridge which is full-up (country club setting townhomes so of course who wouldn't pick that over this dump). Then this place is the other referral by the base. Not good for business with the large influx of military folks if MVS doesn't clean it's slumlording act up! Yeah, pay 1200 bucks a month for no overhead lighting, no patio lights, no outlets where they should be, no sprayer on the sink, no washer and dryer in the apartment yet it cost 1.50 a load each to wash and 1.50 to dry. Oh yeah, and plenty of roaches and ghetto blastin' music. Can you say SLUMLORDS? I emphasized to my kids to go to college and get good grades because if not, this is the hole in the wall you will get. Except for if you are military living here of course, then it doesn't count because this is just a holding slot until we get our way bigger and better home on base. Can you say BENEFITS! This is just a holding slot until they hand my keys over to a nice big 2300 squarefoot house with a two car garage thanks to the new base housing I am eligible for. Good thing my husband and I went to college and have the great military benefits, fantastic housing, and my nice big Nursing title making 50K or more a year. All that cash getting banked so we can retire in Mount Vernon Square WOOPS I mean Cancun after all is said and done. SEE YA SUCKAZ!

unhappyrenteragain, obviously only in your dreams are you making 75,000 and you sound really uneducated. i'm not quite sure if i believe you are working on a masters, probably more like an associates degree. and if you do make 75k but can't afford anything outside of this complex, it could be possible you have issues with financing your money, get help. why don't you pay a couple hundred more and live in huntington gateway, etc.... i have a bachelors in business and am working on a masters right now...i like living affordably until i buy my own house, its people like you who think they are better than god, the world owes you nothing, and you make living here bad. i'd rather live with the ghetto people than you....please do mt. vernon square and take your family and roaches out of here!

boohiggins you are very rude, why are you disrespecting people you don't know, there are many couples who make 75k-100k living in Alexandria. Just because you are jealous does not mean you should bring other people down. I was raised to treat people you don't know with a basic sense of respect and common courtesy, doing so makes the world a better place to live. You should consider doing so as well.
