Disgraceful for the Miltary From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/11/2007 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005   This place is the only place Fort Belvoir would allow us to rent temporarily while we waited for base housing. They were the only apartment facility that would "work with" the military regarding reimbursal of rental monies and BAH. Why would base housing send us here and give us a taste of the Rt.1 Gang and crime/slum area of Northern Virginia' That is enough to run begging to your commanding officer for a humanitarian out of here. MVS and Rt. 1 really gave us a bad taste in our mouth about this area at first impression. I hope base housing has changed their reccomendations or atleast added a few other places to their list! Roaches (lots o' cucarachas)you will be an expert in entymology and extermination when you leave here, filthy, feral cats howling and mating in the bushes and backyards, O'possums hanging out in the garbage dumpsters and partying under your car, broken window latches and sliding doors, ratchety coin washers and dryers that rip up your clothes. Loud music and televisions, domestic fighting and other undesireable noises. Carpets in the leasing office and apartment buldings are stained and reek terribly. All the maids do is mask the scent when cleaning. Replace the carpets ya slum lords! Gang central, loafer central, registered sex offenders live here, innefective management. They talk down to you when you sign on like you should be priviledged that you even got a place available there! PUHLEEEEAAZ! The demo apartment that they showed us is SO NOT what we got! Ours was filthy and roach infested. I hardly even went in my kitchen but cooked in a crock pot on a TV tray in my dining room just out of safety for the day tripping roaches. Yes, they came out in droves in the day as well! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! For anyone that has never lived in this type of environment, you are in for a major reality check. Don't leave your kids alone, go everywhere together, and buy a stun gun. Oh, and invest in stock for pesticides because you are gonna need it! The gardeners were excellent. polite, friendly, hard working, the only thing that MVS has going for it!
