Mount Vernon Square

Like apartment but hate mangagement!! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 12/15/2007 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007   I have been living here for 2 years now. My first summer here my ac didn't work for two months on and off. Everytime maintance would come they stated they had to come back, because they needed to put an order in. Second year now, i called one month prior to summer really began to check my ac, they stated everything was fine. The moment it hit 90 degrees the ac went out. Once again it took forever for them to fix it and offered me a portable fan. My main reason for complaining about this, was because i have a dog that was going to be there all day in the heat. So in order to get it fixed this i had to write a letter to corporate. Then things started working all of a sudden. Now everytime you turn around i have a unpaid balance 5 days pay or quit on my door and they can't explain it. Then i was talking to one of my neighbors that moved in after me, they signed their new lease in july and in sept. they received a notice stating that they quoted them the wrong rent $$ and now it will be $$. So they wanted him to go sign another lease with the new total. He didn't go b/c he already signed a lease with one total, so now they gave him a legal notice and took him to court. what kind of ---- is that. So now he is fighting them for an error they made and also its a f@#$ing signed contract. How can you try to change that now. On another note, the area i live in is pretty quite and not alot of kids, you do occassionaly see police coming thru the neighborhood, but not too bad. Some of my friends that have lived here for about 5 years said it was worst, and has improved. So in the end i would like to move out due to management, but would like to stay because of the community not being to bad.
