I have lived at MVS for two years now.
Negatives:
1 - "The Pledge", made to you by the staff at MVS. They will not honor this. My experience after my first 30 days went from very accomidating to being given the cold shoulder when amenities such as getting a mail key, shelves fixed, sink fixed, and other items were not taken care of. These were reported as a problem during my walk through wich I did by myself. The staff was not with me. I was told I would be considered to have this rule apply to my situation but the request was lost, never found, and never mentioned again.
2 - Front Office Staff - The leasing office is great, will promise you the world and make you feel at home. The Maintenance, Accounting, and Residant Services staff will then take that promise and throw it out the window, i.e., not log maintenance requests in a ticket, maintenance staff will not leave notice of entrance into your apartment as stated in your lease, your records will often be mixed up with another unit and you will need to contact accounting personally to make sure your account is credited correctly. I have even had the Sheriff at my door serving eviction and claims notices from the front office that were eronious.
3 - Neighborhood is rough after dark and they have ceased for what ever reason thier "Courtesy Patrol". They used to be 24 hours when I moved in but have not seen them in mounts now. There is absolutly NO on site security dispite what you read or are told.
4 - Amenities second rate and when they break, count on 2 to 3 weeks for replacement, thats how long it took to get my microwave replaced when it burned up.
5 - Waste is often left at the entrance some of the buildings, depending on the residance of that building and is only cleaned up once a week when the cleaning staff comes to vacume the comon area.
6 - The outside grounds are only cleaned up maybe 1 to 2 times a month that I have seaned so the yard areas will often be cluttered with various litter items for a week or more before it is cleaned up by maintenance.
Possitives:
1 - The property Manager will work with you if you have a complaint. The Appartment Complex is trying to undergo an image change I think but the process is going very slowly.
2 - The floor plance are quite nice and roomy, I do like my unit alot and it makes it hard to consider moving for the price I pay.
3 - It does have a pool and fitness center on-site although I have not used them. They do look somewhat nice and I have heard good things about them.
4 - Metro busses run through the complex which makes it convient for those who commute to work.
5 - Lots of outdoor parking.
