I moved into Oaks of Woodlawn a few months ago and am very satisfied with it so far. I was working under a time constraint when I moved in, and Iram and Vernita at the management office worked with me to make sure I got an apartment quickly. Overall the management and staff have been very professional, and it seems like they do not try to nickel and dime people like some of the other apartment complexes.

Here are the positives:
-Really close to Ft. Belvoir
-Reasonable rent
-Large balconies
-Close to REX and 171 buses to take you to the Metro
-Isolated, more privacy than some of the other apartments like the ones nearby off Sacramento Drive
-Not ghetto like some of the other apartments nearby
-Neighborhood is generally quiet at night
-Friendly and professional staff and management
-Within 3-4 miles of the Mount Vernon trail (for those who like to bike/run)
-Apartment was very clean when I moved in
-Few bugs (except spiders on the balcony that come out at night and kill mosquitoes)

Here are some things they might improve:
-Apartments do not seem especially energy efficient (heating/cooling)
-Fitness center (could add a few dumbbells or something)
-Older (doesn't really bother me, but some people like newer places)

Overall a good deal for those who want a decent place close to Ft. Belvoir. Seems to be head and shoulders above the other apartments close by.
