When I first visited these apartments at dusk, I thought they were okay. Very plain, but cheap. You definitely get what you pay for. In the bright light of day the walls are a light pink, with the kind of paint that if you touch it will show your handprint and will not wash off. It will absorb the color of the sponge you try to wipe it off with though. People constantly leave the side doors open. The secured entrance is a joke. People will let anyone in. The carpeting looks great on arrival, but after a month or two the carpets are completely matted in high traffic zones. The electricity and phones go out frequently. The management does not take any responsibility for this, even though utilities are included in the rent. The doors are paper thin. The maintenance crew is excellent however. Parking is never a problem. No one patrols the parking lot to make sure no one without a permit parks there. I see cars without permits all the time, and I have never seen any patrol in our lot. Landmark, in general, is an eyesore. Rents are going down everywhere in Alexandria, do not sell yourself short by living here.
