Whoever believes there is an excellent view must be mentally blocking out 395. We have an excellent view of the highway and get all the noise.
The new windows are great at blocking out the noise. To me, this is just white noise. you block it out eventually
Regarding there being no traffic, try crossing the street and we'll see if you still feel the same way. The speed limit on the street is 25 mph, but people are going in excess of 45 mph.
Park Place management cannot issue speeding tickets on Van Dorn St. I suggest complaining to the Alexandria City PD.
There is a horrible roach infestation. The management seems to turn a blind eye to the situation. During a board meeting, the board actually had the nerve to act like they never heard about it! Yet, I see Orkin trucks at the building all the time.
Yes, and they'll be happy to fumagate your unit for free. Just contact the office and schedule an appointment. You might want to clean up your trash first, that could be the cause.
The units are not beautiful or well built.
Yes they are. Every apprasial I've seen has rated them "Very Good" for construction. It's a pre-casted concrete, steel and brick building. It's solid as a rock.
The air conditioning/heating system is prehistoric. You cannot even control the temperature in your own unit... you can only control turning the fan off and on via the thermostat... that isn't really a thermostat.
HVAC101... the temperature of the HVAC unit is at a preset degree. Merely blowing a fan up from below a pipe filled with chilled or heated water is what causes the cooling or heating. Your thermostat controls whether the fan blows or not. The system at Park Place is the same basic concept as any regular home system. I would suggest buying some new thermostats. Energy-Star digital programmable Honeywell, Line-Voltage thermostats are expensive, but they're great! The maintenance staff will even install them for you for a nominal fee.
Residents seem to ignore the signs stating there is no smoking within 20 feet of the front doors. There is a loitering problem, as well.
The residents like to gather outside the building and chat with one another. That's why there's park benches. Would you really like to have a place that doesn't want you to hang out outside with your friends' Can you imagine a HOA for single-families that forbids sitting on your front porch swing'
Buying at Park Place is not a good investment. It is not a terrible place to live.
I'm sorry you feel that way.
