Hi, I am planning on moving to D.C. and have been looking at Park Place and Watergate at Landmark as possible options (to buy a condo) since both are in my price range. My question is about demographics' What are the demographics of people living at Park Place' Are there lots of young professionals or families or older' Also, does anyone know about Watergate at Landmark' This might seem weird but I would feel strange living in a complex with lots of retired people when I am working my tail off trying to make a mortgage payment. (I hope that's not mean.) Watergate has more ammenities (indoor and outdoor pools and free shuttle etc etc) but I can't tell if Park Place or Watergate would be a better fit for me since I am in my early 30's and a single, young professional (who would like to be around people like myself.)

Any responses are greatly appreciated in advance!

Hello, I live in Park Place. I'm also in my early 30's and a working professional. There are some retired folks here, but honestly there's a mix of all kinds of people. Mostly you will see young working professionals. I don't know what Watergate at Landmark is like, but I think the location of Park Place is fabulous. You're right next to Shirlington and 395. Despite the easy access, it's quite a peaceful to live. Think about it....our neighbors are a historical park, 2 beautifully maintained churches, and a shopping plaza. It doesn't get better than that. We don't have a shuttle, though the metro bus has a stop directly outside our door. Good luck with your condo search. I hope it goes well.

I agree, this has been a great place to live. I purchased a few years ago. I'm around the same age, and have found a good mix of people here. Everyone is very friendly, and the location is great. People constantly exercise and walk their dogs across the street at the park, the facilities (pool etc) are well maintained, and the staff works hard to keep the building up. It is an older building, but the views are spectacular, not to mention the location. Hope all goes well in your search!

Hi, I bought a 1 BR unit in Park Place just after I turned 31. I have since met my now husband and when we decided to buy a bigger place, we looked no further than Park Place! We love living here with our dog and cat. I agree with the other responders... the people are great... you have a nice mix of singles, couples, families, and retirees. The area is amazing with the park right across the street... and we are so close to everything! If you haven't visited or seen the amazing views, I highly recommend it! I am a Realtor, so if you have any questions about units on the market, I can answer them. Also, the Metro bus service right outside our door was just greatly expanded! The 25A and 25C stop right out front at all times of the day. Here's a link to the schedule... http://www.wmata.com/timetables/va/25ag.pdf Good luck with your search! If you have any questions, feel free to email me at michele@michelepyle.com. If you want me to send you a list of available properties, just send me an email. There are some really great units for sale right now!

Run as far as you can from this place. I bought a 1BR almost two years ago and I must say, this place is the worse. People have no respect for anything. The place is filthy and management is incompetent. Roaches are all over the place regardless if you keep your place clean. Don't listen to those who have previously responded, all of whom are realtors. I am a young married professional and my wife and I can't wait to leave that sorry dirty dump.

To Anonymous: What floor and tier are you on? I am in the middle on the 9th floor and don't have this problem.
