I have a couple of months left on my lease and I am planning on moving. I have had roaches in my apartment from day 1. I am a very clean person and shouldn't have to put up with this BS. They have sent a pest control company to spray but it doesn't completely resolve the problem. Some residents complain that they have rats in their unit. Luckily I haven't seen any in my apartment.

WHEN IT RAINS IT POURS!!!

Whenever there is a heavy storm, my apartment windows leak on the inside of my apartment. I had to move my furniture further away from the window so it would not get damaged. I was told that everyone that lives on my side of the building has the the same problem. The hallways have huge puddles of water on the floor when it rains as well. This usually causes a horrible smell for a week or so. I have reported the problem to management but they don't plan on fixing it anytime soon.

I also had a problem with my gas oven. It was leaking gas. A repair man from the gas company said that management needs to replace the stove. I constantly reported the problem to the office and nothing was done. I finally had to call the main office and speak to the regional manager. He said that I couldn't get a new stove but they would fix the current one. The stove was finally repaired. Why in the hell do I have to call the regional manager just to get some assistance with a life threatening situation. That is crazy.

The elevators are always broken. Management recently upgraded them but the problem still exists. My neighbor actually had to sleep in his car all night because there were no working elevators. Stairwells were not an option since they are locked from the outside and tenants have no key.

Another problem is that somebody contstantly pulls the fire alarm in the middle of the night. Some tenants don't even leave the building because it happens so often.

After all of this, GHA had the nerve to send me a letter that says Happy Anniversary - we are raising your rent by $41.00 to cover the costs of maintaining the building. What in the hell are they maintaining''

PLEASE LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR AN APARTMENT. THE PORTALS OF ALEXANDRIA IS A HORRIBLE APARTMENT COMPLEX. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE APARTMENT GUIDE PHOTOS OF THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING.
