"How come I didn't see these reviews b4 I moved in'"

Well, guess what, Potomac Club is a second go round for me. I lived here previously in 1998-2000. Actually, in the same apt. (chance). The biggest difference this time around, is DEFINITELY the management staff. With the addition of the new building, or phase "2", as they call it, they have hired an entirely new staff with the exception of one of the more senior members of the old staff. Thank god for that one staff member, seems to be the only one with any real sense of "Residents are important". So lets do a quick compare of my two experiences.

1998-2000
1. The Management staff was Very helpful in every aspect of my move -- getting me settled and all providing all the necessary information for a pleasant living experience. They even made provisions for my late arrival (missed the dock dealine for moving furniture).
2. If I ever had a maintenance issue, it was addressed almost immediately. The maintenance staff was friendly and professional.
3. Parking was FREE!
4. Social events were well organized and quite frequent.
5. From what I observed at the time, the occupants were mostly profesisonal working adults who understood the improtance of a GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP for a hard day of work.
6. The management office was ON SITE and any problems a resident might encounter could generally be addressed right in the building.
7. Rent wasn't Un-reasonable for the ammenities, only two years ago--but I was paying almost 200 bux less for the EXACT SAME apartment! not including the new fee for parking.

OK, so that kinda begins my frustration.

1. The new building or phase "2" has stolen all the management staff and replaced them with CLONES (not the word I'd like to use here). Although in fairness, I can't speak of ALL the staff, as I have only had limited interaction with 3 of the current members.

2. The new staff for some reason CAN'T seem to remember your face (no many HOW MANY TIMES THEY SEE YOU WALK IN AND OUT OF THE BLDG). Or better yet, no matter How MANY TIMES THEY stop to ask if you're a "Resident", no, I just enjoy hanging around High rises every freekin nite. As I recall, the old management staff took time to at least get to know their residences on a "Face" basis even if they couldn't remember the name.
2.WHY are we now paying for parking' 25 bux additional a month to pay for a new plush bldg that is so much nice than the original...Phase "2" as they call it seems to be the "W" hotel while phase "1" is more like the the Holiday Inn. But I forget, we're suppose to be ONE community now'' thats why the put a fence around phase "2" to make sure eveyone knows that the building are together....Weird how that works huh'
3. Maintenance request are no longer answered as quickly as they were in the past, at least not in Phase "1". It may have something to do with the fact that "On-site" management is no longer "ON-SITE" it's now in the new building. And maybe we have just become a "Get to it when you can building". Good examples, the ELEVATORS-- at $1300 bux for rent a month, I don't appreciate riding the elevator to my apt. that has been vandalized with a PEN/KEY NAIL or something, or how about HUge wads of GUM stuck to the wall--maybe it just got there and no one saw it'' umm, two days' which brings me to the next "New Issue"

3. Interns--Summer interns invaded the place this past year. As this was different from my last experience, I wasn't prepared for the BEER cans left on the roof, or the trash and paper left in from of the bldg. (yes I have come home and picked up a few things) as I take pride in where I live--wait, should I even be doing that' They seem to treat it like a college dorm (even though Im paying premium rent) LOUD, Noisy, but the mgmt company was able to plan several social events for them, more than we can say for us huh'

I know this review is LONG But, make sure you ask some of the resident you see walking in and out, what they think of the place before you move in. Get the truth!!
