I moved into Phase II (the newer building) in July 2002. Read all of your lease papers carefully! Every single page I read had some form of the agreement wrong, and they had to reprint before I would sign.

I enjoyed moving into a brand new apartment and being the first one to mess everything up. After living in an older apartment that had the occasional bug or rat, it's nice to live in a clean building whose halls are cleaned every day, and where I've never even seen as much a fly, let alone a rodent or cockroach. I have found the appliances seem to work fine, they're nothing special (Kenmore) but the hot water is sometimes slow to come out of the faucet. While it's true that the insulation in the apartment isn't top notch, you can do many things to keep the heat in in winter (like close the sunroom doors and stick a towel under the utility door). My utility bills have stayed constant no matter what the season. That is one advantage of a new building!

Once in a while it's noisy at night when the partiers get home, and I'm beginning to realize that it's been mostly quiet in the building because I haven't had many neighbors. However, now that I have them, it's still pretty quiet. I hear an occasional phone ring or cabinet slam, maybe the upstairs shower, but that's about it. And I haven't met any rude neighbors yet.

One other warning: The walls are cheap. There is only one coat of paint on the plaster, so if you accidently bump something into the wall, you are sure to live a big dark scratch!

The workout center is not all it's cracked up to be. I joined the local YMCA for better equipment.

Overall, I've been happy with the place.
