Be Cautious!

Arriving more than 1 year ago, we were one of the first to rent at this new complex. Construction has plagued our stay here since day 1. And construction continues through our exit. If you have a nice car, you must understand the parking lot is a dangerous area, spaces are small and the area is littered with nails and other debris from the many months of construction.
The old management left approx 3 months ago, with no prior warning. We received a letter announcing the transaction had already happened. The new management seems okay, but has not really made an effort to reach out to the existing residents ? may be different for those new to the complex.
Upon being here for our entire lease we were expecting to rent month to month while we continue our search for homes in the area, but we were shocked to see that our rent would increase 30% per month to continue on a month-to-month basis!
We paid $250 amenity fee for a tennis court that has not been completed, BBQ and picnic area not completed, and to live in a gated community, which has no gate! We do have a workout area that is small but nice and a pool that seems better suited for children, as it is only 4ft deep. We live on a bike path -- which they advertise as a benefit -- yet there is no bike storage. One nice feature is the business center that offers Internet connections and copying / faxing.
The walls are VERY thin(cannot stress this enough). We can hear neighbors on all sides ? above, below, and beside, at all hours.
You start with your standard monthly rate; should you choose to live on the courtyard side, expect to pay a premium (I think $20 additional per month). Note that sound from those using their balcony (especially late at night) is only amplified as it reverberates off the sides of the building. Also add an additional $10 per month premium depending on which floor you are on ? though there is really no benefit unless you live on the top floor.
We too have had issues with cars being towed. The old management informed us that cars were not being towed as, due to construction, many residents were parking in the area reserved for visitors (15 or so spaces). We had friends over whom, finding no parking in the visitor section, parked just behind the fence ? their car was towed; quickly.
The grounds are fairly well maintained, but due to construction there are SERIOUS safety issues!
In summary, we would not recommend this property? it is too expensive and does not deliver what is promised.
