There are lots better

We are completing our 1 year lease (one of the first to live here) in a garden apartment. The apartments are nice (great floor plans, bright, and nicly appointed) but the complex plan is a disaster.

There must be no sound-proofing anywhere. I've put notes on my upstairs neighbor's door because they WALK TOO heavy. Stereo noise, yelling kids, and barking dogs are constant. Speaking of dogs -- there must be more dogs than humans, and the size limit is 60 lbs. This complex must contain every inconsiderate dog owner in the DC area. The dog mess left behind and the dog uring stained areas in the grass is tremendous.

There is one dumpster area. It is always messy. People throw bags of garbage in here indiscriminately, and if it misses the dumpster it just lays there until the garbage truck comes, or a concerned resident picks it up. Hardly ever see the apartment staff cleaning up the area.

Other reviews here talked about construction. It seems to be constant. I had a garage and in the past year I've been unable to use it at least 4 months -- because there was either stones, scaffeling, or trucks parked in front of it. The management never rebated any garage rent because I was unable to park my car in it.

Parking spaces are extremely narrow. Before they paved I complained to the office staff that they needed to widen the parking spaces when they paved. They didn't. Lots of folks have had door dings.

There are many transient renters in this complex. The ARmy has several apartments that they lease and then put folks that are in the area for short times. Several other government agencies also lease here. The result is that there are many people living here with no sense of "ownership." The area tends to get messy and the noise is constant from the transient "animal house" living conditions.

It's unfortunate, these are really nice apartments. They were not designed, however, to mitigate noise. There are many inconsiderate renters here, and the dogs are REALLY out of control.

You'd be better off looking somewhere else. mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
