Not worth a price From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 9/14/2004 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004   What I like .... - I fly a lot and being next to DCA airport is like a miracle.Location wise this property is great as my wife works in Crystal City. - Easy access to garage. Covered parking free for first car. - Good proessional crowd.Lots of young ppl. - Apartments are neat and clean. - Shopping mall right across the street(has Starbucks too!) - It is worth mentioning that outside apartment lightings are very bright and property is very well illuminated. What I don't like .... - My AC broke down in 10 days after I moved.Next day my wife called maintenance man, He suggested I must have switched off the AC and turn it on as a result controller is heated up and needs to cool down. I was asked to wait for 1 hour and start the A/C again. I waited 3 hours but no result. That night we spent sweating. It really gets hot here if A/C is not turned on. Next day, My wife called for service 3 times, Finally he showed up. Turns out wire was burnt out and he fixed it quickly, since then there is no problem. I am giving three star rating to service as It could be just a geniune mistake.No big problem here. I will have to wait to see how next problem will be addressed. - If you have an additional car, $50/- extra for a month.Ouch ! Not that it is big amount as most of the ppl living here are well-to-do but I would rather see a movie with that money right across the street.Thats right, We have theater right across the street in a mall :) The worst of all is the poor sound-proofing job done on walls. I can hear everything my neighbour is watching.While I am writting this message, I am sitting in dining area(20 feet away from common wall) and yet I can hear the sound (I don't think he is playing it loud) of TV! Very cheap construction.Be careful when you rent the Apt.I am glad I did not fall for great move-in specials and signed only 6 month lease. I will have to find out from other neighbours if they are having the same problem.I wish I had read these reviews earlier. Another problem is traffic light. There is a signal but rarely works in morning! One reason could be heavy trafic on Jefferson Davis Highway.Yes, main Entrance is right on highway.I like a fool waited for 5-10 minutes several time utill I realised ppl living in this complex don't wait for green light. They break signals in the morning! I have witnessed several time in the rush hours. I have also noticed that ppl getting in and out of the complex have a high tendancy of driving fast(I was one of them). Nearly everyone I have observed are doing so.This gets annoying as road to the left entarance to get in to the complex from highway side is very narrow.Incoming and outgoing cars from complex can really collide if one is nor careful. It just weird that apt complex itself has so much space inside but no space was left for ongoing traffic.The best way to understand what I am trying to say is to visit this apartments in rush hours.Now I have learn to slow down a lot, Wish others do that too. This is what I have found so far. Please go through the other reviews as they do cover some other good or bad aspects of the apartment. Happy Apartment hunting.
