Reserve at Potomac Yard

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/8/2005 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005   I have lived at the Reserve for almost 2 years. This place is not worth the money. I pay like $1600 for a two bed/2 bath. First off don't let other people posting here convince you that the ghetto next door is just something "white racist" makeup or make a big deal about. About three weeks ago (Feb. 2005) I watched the Alexandria Police SWAT team raid a house on the street next to our lovely complex. I don't know about you but police raids are not what I want to see next to my house, and I work in Law Enforcement. Go to the police to get a crime report for the neighaborhood. The management, or lack there of, is horrible. The new management is worse than the last one. Yes the last one never fixed the gates when broken. But this management group has decided to cut the locks out of the pedestrian gates with a cutting torch, leaving them open for whoever wants to come in. The "pond" is nothing more than a West Nile breeding ground in the summer, and an eyesore the rest of the year. It takes an act of Congress to get some service done anywhere. The exterior lights have been burned out for a few months, making it completely dark when walking outside at night. You can hear every word of your neighabor's phone conversations. They jack up the price everytime you go to resign the lease. There is a trashcan for dog refuse that has the bottom completely rusted away. The management didn't pick up the bags of dog poop that fell out for almost a month, and still have not replaced the broken trashcan. Some dog owners don't even bother to pick up their dog's poop. (Being a dog owner it really pisses me off.) On the bright side the management is very dog friendly which makes it nice for my dog and all his doggy friends. I would not even bother looking at this place!!!
