Yo!

Very Good-so far

I moved here about a month ago after my previous apartment got turned into a condo. That was a pretty heart-breaking thing, so I'm really pleased with the great home that this place has made for me so far.

The best things about this place are the good quality of construction, courtesy and professionalism of the staff, and the coziness of the individual apartment. Noise is often an issue in apartments, but definitely not this one. (That may be because it's on the fourth floor, but it's a very nice change-the walls must be fairly thick). The bathrooms are also very spacious and both include linen closets, which is often hard to find in apartments. The master bath contains a GIANT garden tub!

So far, the staff has been very friendly and responsive. Given that they have SO many people to deal with every day since this is a big community, they are always available to help and are quite knowlegeable. (I've lived in MUCH smaller communities where the staff couldn't adequately handle issues and this place isn't like that).

My only two gripes so far are with parking and the community. First, parking is WAY too expensive for what it's worth. The garage is very darkly lit and the spaces are assigned and guest parking close to my unit is always limited. It's also leaky so there are big puddles all around and they freeze when it's cold. In addition, the spaces themselves are pretty tight, so you have to park carefully.

The next issue is with the community as a whole. It's in a sketchy neighborhood, but I've lived in the area for about three years and that's pretty much what you get-this is no fault of the apartment complex, but if it's something that concerns you deeply, you may want to look elsewhere. The aesthetic appeal of the complex is not that great-there are not many trees and plants around and the garage areas stay quite junky. (Apparently, some people use their parking spaces for storage or something).

Anyway, this is a great place overall. You can't beat the quality of the apartment and the spaciousness and quietness. The location is great too-very conducive to walking to the shopping center and even Crystal City. (I wouldn't recommend walking around alone at night, but then again, I don't recommend that ANYWHERE in Arlington and Alexandria because there are safety issues). It's great overall and I would definitely recommend it.
