I decided not to renew my lease here and pay the moving expenses to get out of this place. They tried to renew my least at $1355 even though my model (smallest one bedroom on the 1st floor, no special amenities like a fireplace, etc) is now going for $1200 for first time tenants. Not a good way to keep people!
The dog poop is out of control. I suspect its new people with these 2 very large dogs I see around, but no way to confirm that. It seems to have gotten bad in the last couple of months.
The gates only work about half the time. So much for the "luxury" of a gated community and the office staff isn't great. After about six months of living there, I received a note under my door that I owed over $900. I finally got it straightened out after 2 days of arguing with them. It was an accouning error on THEIR part, but I still got the letter threatening legal action if I didn't pay for the mistake.
On the plus side, the apartments themselves are relatively nice, but I wouldn't recommend living on the first floor. I get woken up many times at 2:00AM while my loud drunken neighbors walk past my bedroom window.
One great perk is the shuttle service to the metro. I wish it ran later than 8:00pm but the guys who run the shuttle are great. Same thing goes for the maintenance guys, they are really reliable and very nice when you see them around the complex. The office staff could learn a thing or two.
Its not the greatest place and you can pay about the same thing for a nicer place in Arlington.

The animal feces is out of control. My suggestion is that management should use pet fees to aleviate the abundance of waste. My guess would be they pocket the fee.

Well I have seen the dog feces, just left laying around. Truth be told that is on the owners who have no respect for others. I hear that the containers which are suppose to hold the scoop bags are often empty. That is still no excuse for the owners not to clean up after their pets. After all Target sells paper bags and there is a Petsmart right across the street. As for the noise, the 3rd floor is not any better. My fourth floor neighbors are a piece of work. I'm moving to a smaller cheaper apartment on the first floor but still in this complex, GOD help me. I'm locked in for another year. Some people say they hear no noise here, I say they are just lucky, I hope to be that lucky soon. Fourth Floor seems to be the best, and maybe building 200. 100 seems to be a little shaky. And there were recent car breakins. But the cameras are not designed to catch that sort of thing. I just have to wonder why? Why are the camera not designed for real security. Why are the walls and floors so thin. Why did I rent here?! Why?Why?Why?
