I've been reading many of the comments here and have to say that the negative comments are way off base. I've been living here for four years now (since summer 2003). Sure there have been a couple of times that have been less than stellar, but that hasn't happened for quite a while (I'd say that you'd find some of these complaints anywhere).

The maintenance crew is top notch. The few times I've had to call them for something, they have taken care of it within 24 hours.

The resident relations staff has had the most improvement in the past 4 years and the crew they have now is easily the best - they're helpful, friendly and have been coming up with new things for the residents here to take part in (this past weekend, they helped coordinate a brunch on one of the dining boats docked in Alexandria). Most importantly, they are there to assist in making the residents' stay a pleasurable one. If you have an idea for something new for the community, just walk up to any of them and they will try to find a way to make it happen.

I have to wonder if the people who have complained here have actually approached anyone in management and brought up their concerns or just like to sit around and complain. It's more than just a bunch of buildings. It's a community. But you need to be a part of the community, not apart from it. Sitting around and complaining on a site doesn't improve anything for anyone. Everyone can make it better, you just have to choose to do it.

Bottom line - this is a great place to be and it's getting better all the time.
