Don't Move Here.

We moved here when we were new to the area - the man on the phone told us we were to get one month free and have access to the newly built Town Center.
When we arrived, the Town Center had not been complete, and the one month free was a fallacy.
Living in Tower 2, we had a "classic" apartment. "Classic" is their euphemism for "we haven't quite remodeled your apartment yet, enjoy the 1980 appliances." Our forced air air conditioner/heater broke often - but maintenance has always been quick to repair it.
When the Town Center was finally built, we were told that since we weren't paying for a "Premium" apartment in Tower 1, we were not allowed to have access to the Town Center - unless we paid a $75 enrollment fee and $35/month PER TENANT to have access to the facilities.
We made the news last year - having 13 burglaries - WHICH MANAGEMENT DID NOT WARN US ABOUT as they were happening. We were made aware of the incidences a couple of days before we made the news. Numerous cars have been broken into - but "The Management" makes it clear that they are not responsible for lost or stolen property. I often see people lurking in the parking lot - day or night... and will not leave my apartment without my husband - especially at night.
Our utilities are split equally among all the tenants - there is no incentive for people to conserve electricity, and as a tenant w/out a washer and dryer in my apartment - I get to pay the electricity costs for those that do.
Speaking of the laundry facilities - they are often broken, flooded, or just plain stink. One of my neighbors stole my detergent today as well.
The "resident relations" staff will try to create this sense of "community" in the complex - when my neighbors will not even speak, or look at me - I find it difficult to feel any community sense in the area.
There are loud children - by loud, I mean running down the hall at 5:30am, blood curdling screams outside and in the hall. But there are also well-behaved children in the building as well... I guess it comes down to parenting.
They raised our rent by $100 last year... when the same 1 bedroom was being leased to new tenants for $200 less. This year they raised our rent by $50... we are not renewing our lease.
Be willing to pay a little extra in the area. Please do not make the same mistake we did.

How true! How very very true. There's more! What management also didn't tell you was that they have "x' number of tenants on government subsidy. Translation: ??????Some" are dirty and lazy and that is where the cockroach infestation originates. Management also doesn't bother to let you know their love affair with nasty immigrants from just about every stinking third world nation you can mention. Regarding the crime rates, just notice who is "lurking' in the parking lot at night drinking their beer and smoking their dope as the rap music blares and THERE you will have identified your perpetrators. On top of all of this, the shuttle bus driver gives me the creeps. Management doesn??????t stick around at night to see these things. They merely take up space in the day time and are useless otherwise.
