Seriously. Do yourself a favor and just skip Riverside. They charge high prices for terrible quality living. Since we moved here a year ago we have had constant issues with the water, electric, AC, lights, insects, refrigerator, etc.
The water is turned off pretty regularly. You would think they are doing maintenance but when they turn it back on you're still lucky if you get hot water at all.
As I'm typing this the water has been turned off again, no warning, just no hot water all day and now no water at all.
The knob on our stove broke off, our refrigerator door completely fell out, the AC has stopped working. We have ants on the 15th floor.
Last week a couple was sitting in the lobby asking if we had cockroaches as well. Nope just centipedes and ants.
On move in the house smelled thick of carpet scenting perfume, after a month we found out why. Apparently whoever lived here before us had cats that peed on the floor and AIMCO was to cheap to tear out the carpet and use Kills on the sub floor to get rid of the smell.
Customer service from the office staff is dismal at best and we constantly feel as if we are getting attitude from management.
About the only people here worth a damn seem to be the poor maintenance guys who are working round the clock replacing broken appliances with almost broken appliances.
When our refrigerator door fell off I expected a new refrigerator, instead we got an even older one from a different unit. I do thinks it's important to mention that the maintenance team here deserve high praise. These guys are professional, friendly and fast. It's too bad the rest of the staff doesn't reflect this attitude.
I am not an irrational person and have lived in much cheaper places than this, the difference was, the price reflected the quality. I'd pay about $400/month for a 1 bedroom in this dump... no more than that. As soon as our lease is up we are out of this place.
So as I said, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
Warn your friends too.
[Update] Waters back on but still no hot water... this is the life!
