Initial Move in: mold in bathroom and storage closet, dents in appliances and front door, foul order throughout apartment, dryer broken, washer broken, dishwasher broken. Cracks in tile floor of bathroom, linoleum floor coming up in kitchen. Non-energy efficient appliances. Normally wouldn?t be worth mentioning but when your first electric bill comes in at just below $300 and you?re the type of person that ensures that all non essential items and lights are turned off it becomes noteworthy. In fact after numerous dealings with the electrical company it was figured out that I was actually paying for the electrical in the basement as well. Now I?m not sure what could be possibly be pulling such a load in a basement of a 12 unit building''' Well I do know that is where the generator running the water pump was for 3.5 days while the basement was flooded and our complex was out of water. Also it was used extensively for the repair crew for both the basement and the front cement staircase.
Regardless of my belief of the admin office personnel they have always acted nice to me in person. However I have seen some inter-office messages and been in the office during many slanderous and derogatory comments about tenants.
Following months: initial problems never repaired nor even addressed. Hmm against contract and VA rental codes! Month 6-8 after calling, stopping by and presenting a list of eight items that need repaired. I got service? Well actually only the a/c got repaired as this was just at the end of spring and that is considered an emergency. So you guessed it, a/c repaired work order closed with no resolution of other problems. So why wasn?t the issues opened up in a separate work order for each or even just update the status of the work order since' I guess making since just wouldn?t work here. So after four phone calls and two letters I finally got no resolution! I finally sat in the office and had to discuss the issue in the front office in front of future residents. Not what would normally put myself to; however I was just too upset to continue on this course. So I finally started getting some repairs. It only took two months and three more visits to complete the list. In which during this I had my a/c break again. So to round out this, I then have had the following issues. I have had my sliding door glass window broken out. In which nothing was stolen thankfully, but my neighbor had to call me at work, as this was around 11 a.m. to let me know that he saw it and came in to make sure that no one was robbing me. So I had to take off work to come out to inform the admin office in which they after several conversations finally decided that they would indeed call a glass repair shop for me but had no idea how this could have happened. I have also had the phone of buying a new car, stopping by the rental office to get my parking sticker in which I was refused as I only had my temporary registration and not my plates yet. I was informed not to worry that they would not have it towed. Well for whatever reason I decided to trust her. Well there is nothing like walking out to an empty car parking space where your car was! Even better is that is no disclosure in the lease, on the property, website, or even on their voice phone system of how does their tow services. So I contacted the police to see if an impound report had been placed upon my car, in which it was. So I finally got a hold of this rundown one-man tow service that doesn?t open till ten. In which I had to pay a hefty price to obtain my car. In which my car was not only starched and dented but also being a front wheel drive manual transmission with the emergency brake on I was severely agitated to see that it was towed in reverse for nine miles. Currently still in a legal suit against the property management company for damages. Dishwasher has been repaired three times, looked at four times and is somehow still broken! I had mad a mistake in my lease duration in which I had given my notice to vacate one month prior to when I should?ve. I then was promptly called and informed of my mistake. I then went to speak with the property manager to verify the dates upon my lease and review my displeasure of all of the events that I have encountered? and that I would complete the lease as after all I had mistaken the timeline has I didn?t have a copy of my full contract and that is the only paperwork that specifies the exact dates. All other documents state a year lease, which is where the whole thirteen-month lease game comes out. Then 11 days later I get a letter in the mail saying that they have received my notice to vacate and that I owe them almost four thousand dollars for breaking my lease. So this brings me to current? We?ll all hope that this turns out well, but at this rate I?m sure that what used to be my casual hope that people can do their job will turn into a legal conflict of responsibilities of your services. I almost forgot I received a notice for a noise violation, first one and informed the second one I may be evicted. Strange as how it was for a time period I was in Miami, FL for three days''' Also you might note that some units have hardwood floors so at all hours of the day you get to hear your neighbors, to include them just walking also you get the luxury of listen to your neighbors children that were not granted the gift of musical prowess as some wicked notes screeched out. Let me not forget the seventy-year old man that was walking through the parking lot nude. Even better was upon informing the admin office was ?oh.. he has done that before?
So for all those people that have said this is a great or not so bad community, by all means turn on your lights or just talk a walk outside if you don?t see that your wrong it spot you soon enough.

My update as I have been staying at a friends place while repairs occur. Is that over a week ago my bathroom ceiling starting falling into my toilet as their is a water pipe leaking overhead. The fix all answer from maintenance was duct tape until Monday. After much grumbling and one large hole made that I had to clean up after. Well Tuesday came and still not fixed. So finally while I'm at work on Wed. it was repaired, or well at least the pipe was supposedly fixed. As the hole in the ceiling was just repaired, and I use that term loosely because it is just filled, not sanded, painted, etc. But I also now have two additional leaks in the bathroom and one in the walkway between the water heater closet and the bathroom.
