I moved here in February 2009. My apartment is one of the newly renovated ones, and what a nice difference! Fresh paint, carpet, new flooring in kitchen and bath, all new appliances and cabinets, better light fixtures to include a nice ceiling fan/light in the bedroom. The only downside, in my opinion, is the hallways leading to your newly renovated unit. The doors are in desperate need of paint, and the floor - especially under apartment door - is disastrous looking. After all the work to make the INSIDE nice... they need to make the OUTSIDE just as appealing. The railings outside leading up the stairs to the building entrance need to be painted too.

The only downside to the INSIDE of the unit is SMALL kitchen and SMALL bathroom. No more than two people can fit in the "galley" kitchen, but at least there's plenty of counter space (newly replaced, too).

The rental office staff is GREAT... I have never had a negative experience dealing with them. The few times I called for maintenance issues, the response time was very fast (same day) and their staff is very professional.

I have not had any issues with security, and I understand that Rose Hill is becoming a "gated" community this summer (supposed to begin in July).

Overall, Rose Hill is a very nice place to live. The rents are a little steep compared to some other apartments in the area, and utilities are not included. One thing that really bugs me is the WATER company, called "MINOL". Apparantly they do the billing on Rose Hill's behalf, which is fine. But what I object to is the fact that every month you are billed a $3.00 "administrative fee" just for the printing of your bill! And if you wish to pay online, whether it's by check or credit card, more FEES ($5.00) are charged! I don't write a lot of checks these days, but considering that these crooks make $36 a year in fees JUST to produce a monthly bill... I refuse to give them another penny for online payments. I mail them a check every month. At least the electric company, Dominion, bills honestly and fairly... without added fees.
