My family and I recently moved to Seminary Towers. I had a pleasant experience with the folks in the rental office but the one thing they are rather strict on is parking. They wouldn't give me a parking pass because the car was given to me in the 90's by my mother; we never bothered transfering the title, haven't needed to. They won't give me a parking sticker due to this. Anyhow aside from that.... I'm big on clean and have not had to share my space with roaches. Well now I do. I've probably put down 50 or so roach bates (NO LIE) and bought two cans of raid... for the on sight kill. Apparently the Orkin man isn't doing the job...so I'm going out the pocket and hiring Terminix! That is sad b/c I'm renting but I can't do the roach thing. I do hear noises occassionaly, fire trucks and police sirens regulary. It has it's quiet moments also. I haven't seen a rat/mouse in my apartment (God willing) I won't but I have seen them around the property across the street. I leave on the kitchen light but the roaches still come. For a few days they were MIA but I've seen about 5 or 6 today. I've cleaned more than I've ever cleaned in my life :( I now put my cereal in the refrigirator because of fear of the roches. Anyhow rent isn't cheap either. It's nice to have Elec and Gas included but water is not. If it wasn't roach infested and they got rid of some of the rude people it wouldn't be such a bad or unpleasant place. There is a nice amount of space in the kitchen and the living/dining area is spacious but the rooms are small and the bathroom is really tiny. There isn't much closet space either. You do smell food in the building but I haven't smelled anything that I can not stand; probably because my apartment smells like Raid...lol. Anyhow depending on what you are willing/able to spend for this amount of rent you will be able to find a nicer place but now and days rent is like having a mortgage. I lived elsewhere in the area prior to moving here and paid about $100 more in rent all utilities not included and they had poor staff and because I lived on the ground level a lot of ants. So even the most expensive place (I'm talking $1800's) is not the best place to live. I would say it's ok for a short stay but if I would have known about the roaches I wouldn't have moved in.
