Seminary Towers

Seminary Towers is just OK From: PenthouseResident Date posted: 1/30/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008   I am currently a resident in the only penthouse unit at Seminary Towers. I reside there with my fiance and our daughter. We moved in July of 2007. The apartment is very big and spacious. It is the equivalent of a 1 bedroom and a two bedroom apartment meshed together. Our rent is over 2200 dollars a month. We wouldn't mind paying this price only there are a few things that I don't like. Seminary isn't exactly forthcoming about the way utilities are charged to you when you sign your lease. You see that all electricity is included and are excited. Well what they don't tell you is that your water bill is not in any way, shape, or form billed according to your own personal consumption, but is billed based on a formula that is based on the actual size of your apartment. Since we live in the largest apartment in Seminary Towers (1400 square feet) our bill is the highest. All of our efforts to conserve water are useless. Even if we were on vacation for an entire month of which no water was used at all, we would still pay a huge water bill...which by the way includes exhorbitant sewer costs, and heat service fees. My "water bill" for this month exceeded 200.00. Additionally, the air is turned off on October 15 while there is still 90 degree weather outside. I had to go out in October to buy oscillating fans to cool the apartment off. I've seen a couple of bugs here an there, but not an abundance. I've not seen any mice, but -- which I agree with another person -- if I ever see even one, I am moving out. The neighborhood elementary school is nice and the staff is always nice and friendly in our tower. We are currently undecided if we will renew for another year.
