Not Bad But Not Perfect

I lived here for about a year and a half, and while it wasn't perfect, I am glad we rented here and are only moving because of my job.
On the downside, the floors squeaked whenever you walked, so I could keep track of my upstairs neighbors movements, just as I'm sure the guy below me always knew where in the apt. I was. Also, the dishwasher wasn't the best- I had to pre-wash a lot of things to ensure it cleaned the dishes. Finally, there are only 2 washers and dryers in our building, which has 11 apartments, which sometimes made doing laundry a pain.
On the upside, it is close to the Metro, with a bus stop right outside, and I can only think of 2 or 3 times when I couldn't get a parking space directly in front of my building. Also, I felt safe in the parking lot at night, and frequently saw the security guards who watched the lot at night. The complex is within a 10-min drive of several good restaurants and even closer to major highways. Also, the master bedroom in our unit was nice and large and the apartment in general had ample closet space. The few times we called maintenance, they came over quickly and were friendly and got the problem fixed. Also, I don't think I saw a bug in my apartment for the last 9 or 10 months I was there- they spray frequently, and it shows.
Overall, I do recommend this place with a few warnings- definately get a unit near the front as it is better lit and does feel a bit more secure, also, they only take the 30-day notice to vacate on the 1st of the month. Finally, the office staff is for the most part very friendly and helpful, however, there is one woman (who is usually the only one there on weekends) who speaks only one word of english, and that is 'no'. Avoid her, and your dealings with the office should be painless.
