I live in an apartment on the bottom level. The bathroom of the tenants above me is right above my bedroom. The noise from the running water when they shower is ridiculously loud. You can't hear anything else when on the phone, listening to music or TV, and when having company over commenting on "how can you stand that'" I've had water leaking onto my bed and myself while sleeping on at least two occasions. On the first occasion I had the maintenance staff try to fix the problem, needless to say, I had to sleep on the couch for about 4-5 days. My bed had to be moved out of the room, while the gentleman cut out the ceiling on day one; he said it was due to lack of caulking on the upstairs tub and that it would be fixed. On day two, another guy and woman replaced the ruined ceiling portion and did not finish, leaving mud on my guitar, outlets and carpet. Luckily with a little water I was able to clean up their mess. On day three, they were a no show to finish sanding and painting. On day four, they finally showed up and finished sanding and painting. A few days later it was leaking again. I called maintenance again and everything seemed to be ok. Then on New Years at 2:00AM, the tenants above were taking the usual loud shower when the water started leaking again on me and my fiancee. I had to have them come back out to fix my ceiling a second time. Be sure to ask about the running water noise before signing a lease here as you may find out when it's too late. I'm looking to get out of this place as soon as I have the extra money to break the lease. At this point the loss of sleep and living conditions aren't worth it to stay.
