Definitely not bad for the price

I should preface this by admitting I'm from New York City, so I may be biased, although I'd never lived in an apartment before (unless you count a school-sponsored apartment building during college). Maybe I got lucky, but I find the negative reports on this site to be greatly exaggerated. Sure there were minor issues, but for the cheap all-inclusive rent, I don't think I can really complain. When I first moved in, there were roaches (I saw no more than 1-2 per night) but I just put some baits down and for the last several months of my year there I didn't see one bug. The dishwasher tended to leak water onto the countertop (it was supposed to rinse into the sink) but I started putting paper towels down before doing dishes, and that problem was solved. The washer and dryer downstairs leaked and were small which forced you to do more loads than you wanted, but they recently replaced those with new ones. The floors were thin and creaked a lot... I could hear my upstairs neighbor's every step, but it wasn't horrible. Overall, it was a very safe and comfortable area, and my time there was relaxing and a welcome break from NYC. I'm a single male who was living alone and I had no major problems. The staff was fine. For the cheap rent, I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, but like I said this was a new experience for me so I had nothing to compare it to. I'm sure some people had it bad, but I think most people just like to complain. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
