Smoke From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 10/18/2004 Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004   One of my biggest problems with the apartment is the fact that your neighbor's smoke can invade your space. When I first moved in I apparently had a neighbor who smoked above me and the smoke would come through my vent in the kitchen. It was to the point that I had to close that vent up which is unfortunate. Things got better and I did not have any problems after that. Well this past summer is when apparently my neighbors to the left, above and below me moved out and now there is someone who smokes HEAVILY. It is now coming through the A/C and heat unit and is driving me nuts. Not to mention one night I laid on the floor watching television and could smell cigarette smoke coming from the floor and from the a/c unit. It has been driving me nuts and it is to the point that I am wanting to complain, but with all the problems what will they tell me' "Oh that person pays as much rent as you do and they have a right to smoke." Well it is unacceptable when it makes you feel as though you are living in an uncomfortable environment like that. There is also this very weird man that follows women in particular around trying to strike up conversations with them. I have had a couple of run ins with him where he saw me returning the key to the gym and decided to hide in the corner for a few minutes until I got to the elevators. Then he decided to try and run and get in the elevator with me and I closed the doors just in time. I also had a run in with him on the stairwell one day when the power was out and that was not the most pleasant feeling. I have talked to other women in the complex and they said that this man is very weird and do not know what to do about him. They said they have complained but not has been done which is bothersome. I am hopefully looking for new places to live very soon because now things have gotten out of hand in my complex.
