I lived in the towers in 1990 through 1994. This place was my saving grace. It was affortable and clean and nice for the price. The lobbies were always well decorated and the front desk staff was always very helpful. The janitorial staff kept the place spotless and clean you could eat off the hallway floors. Many of my friends after visiting my apartment, wanted to be a tenant at the towers. I did see a roach from time to time, however that is every where, concerning apartment living, because you live with such diverse group of people, you can expect not everyones place will be spotless, however, the complex was always willing to work with you to exterminate on a regular basis. As for the smell of curry, you have people from all walks of life, different ethinic groups that utilize the curry spices on a regular for almost all their meals. I cannot belive the bad reviews that I'm reading as for me and my husband, before we were married and started a family, that was our love nest he had his aparment in the sherwoods and I stayed in the Ashlawn and Berkley and the experience was always wonderful. My favorite was the nice big tennis court and the landscape as well as the pool. My company loved to take a dive in the pool. I was close to work I worked at Alexandria Hospt. Boy do I miss the good old days at southern towers, if I had the cash I would buy the property, just because I had such a great and joyous experience there.
