I lived there from 1994 to 1998 when I was in high school and the last time I went to visit in 2003 I was like WHOO! What in the hell happened' I'll tell you. They rented 3 of the buildings out to section 8 and it it turned into a ---- hole. That's what. I was robbed in the elevator and a women was raped in the Monticello stairwell one night. My car was broken into twice and I was just visiting. Eww. And don't get me started on the Ashlawn building. That woman at the front desk has been there forever and she hasn't changed. Don't feel bad, she hates everyone. And she's finally come to realize that she isn't working there for the paycheck. It used to be an awesome place to live. I grew up there and I wish it would return to the happy place of my childhood, but I didn't grow up in Le Ghetto or in Mexico so I guess that'll never happen. I've had friends who rented there for over 20 years move out recently because they just couldn't take it anymore. The place is just so awful. Sorry but its no longer a place to raise your kids unless you want to bury your little gangster at the age of 19.

I've been reading the reviews, the terrible out weigh the good by a landslide;but his is the first I've read of violence and burglary though. It definitely DOES NOT sound like a safe place for single women in the least. (Which is odd because most of the good reviews are from single women) Is it truly that bad..
