They will not fix your problems! They will act concern then blame the problem on you when they do not act! They will say that you never told them, when in fact you did. I have had a mold problem for over a year due to a leaky AC unit... see the pictures below. Dont even get me started on the pests, and the gang fights that occur in the common areas of the buildings. The staff is rude, and watch yourself walking around the buildings... the children like to throw things off their balcony (16 floors!). Don't rent here! lGjq8RUBjvsZjkb5ueji

Gosh, do you think you're a little hard on the place. Used to be a great place to live and it looks like they are trying to fix some of the buildings. After all it is one of the oldest apartments in Alex. If you look at what has happened in past few years (me, 10 yrs. ), you might see the trash that's been allowed to move in. The management tries to keep the buildings up, but the people don't care if they trash the place. I can just imagine what their apartments look like. I have neighbors that drag their trash done the hall, leaving a trail of juicy crap on the carpet. Now I see roaches in the hall and trash room. They are rude, loud and their apartment stinks out into the hall. They must be renting mattresses for all the people that seem to live there. In my opinion, which is as important as anyones, it's the trash that's living here, that makes Southern Towers a ghetto. (Can't blame the management for how people behave or live.) I don't even go out on the grounds at night, for all the men and kids hanging around 7-11, and the buildings. Drunk or doing something that makes them very rude, disrespectful and scary. People have said Southern Towers is a bad place to live and it's true. Everyone that lives here legally desires to live where they want, but the "trash" should respect the rules and their neighbors, as well as take advantage of the priviledges. Maybe management should do some housecleaning and get rid of the trash.

Both are you are correct. Security is a serious issue here because the Chief of Security can not mobile this complex by himself and his staff are no good - lazy people. They have people living in two bedrooms apartment with 10 people in there. No I'm not lying. In my building and on my floor one two bedroom has seven people living in there and the kids that lives there scream all night long - all in the hallways disturbing other people and they do not have any consideration for others. There other two bedroom has 10 people living in it and some of them sleep in the living room and they have security up there about a week in the first week living there. They have people renting apartments for other people are living to live in it. They are rude and loud residents, slamming door and think that they are the only people living there.
Yes, kids are told to take the trash out and some adults too and drag their nasty trash on the carpet with ---- dripping on the carpret and then it starts stinking. Had neighbors cook spoil food after a power outage and made the entire floor sick and some people went to the hospital but the people that did cook the food - got food poison and the dumb asses did not know what was wrong with them. We have grown ass people pissing in the hallway on the carpet. Now if you tell the managers, they don't do anything about it.
Roaches do not have any thing to humidity environment, they come from nasty ass people - that all! I do not have any bugs or critties running in my apartment because I'm a clean person. If I do see one - I ask for the bug man - some of these people are use to living with them or they are so nasty, they can't understand why they have bugs.
You shoud see the latest comment on ST on 3/27/08, they don't know about , they only been here for 3 yers, wait until the summaer or if it warms up, they will see what we are talking about. They probably come in from work and stay in until it time to go to work. Wait until it gets warms, they will see the gangs hanging around, seeing them run off the premises. People robbing the 7-11 and the people argue and fighting because people flying up and down the complex roads because they think is' I-395 and if someone hits there car by pulling out, they are ready to fight. I have seen with my own eye, people run off this premises by Chief of Security and Alexandria Police and these people have been banned and have not been back.
I have been here for over 10 years within two building and I see how nice it been, have seen it go down, and now I see it getting better again. We have to deal with them fixing up the building so everyone have been through it and all five building are and have been work done. Ashlawn and the Straford at the last two.
Overall, ST building are terrible due to the tenants, yes if everyone is clean or be clean it will be a better place to live.

Wow! No that's deep the comment from 03/27/08. It seems that you been here for a while and see the run down of everything. People who been here for a while have seen some stuff - I might say.
They do need a new security or more of them - not enough for all five buildings and the 7-11 along with the bank.
I have been here for a good while myself and it's been wild. Now the park closed by sun down due to outsiders. More people use to walk but not that much now due to sick people out there and crazy drivers that speed onthe premises. 7-11 always getting rob, thanks to outsiders. People cars being stolen or vandalized due to outsiders. Residents visitors I believe are the cause or people that don't live here because anyone can drive right in.
People or visitors from the hotel across the street comes over to the 7-11 and just trash the place or play with the tenant cars and then run right back over to the hotel like nothing happened.
The bank on the premises got and he lived here - something like that and he was caught by the Chief of Security in the Monticello Buildings -right in the lobby. You do see overwhelm occupying small apartments - like 5-9 in a one or two bedroom apartment. Now tell me if that's not a tight fit.
So overall, ST is great for the price but if you can't deal with your neighbors or the crime - the best thing to do is to leave.
