The Monticello is Horrible!

This is the worst place. Bugs, noise, odor, trash, and lazy staff. Most of the problems could be addressed if the staff and management cared. When you complain the staff does nothing. The tenants dispose of trash by leaving it in the trash room rather than putting it in the chute. You report it and the staff does nothing. I keep a very clean house and pay for a maid to come twice a month. Yet, I have killed probably as many roaches as days I have lived there. You can request a treatment and they will spray, but you have to pack everything up and the roaches are still there. When you see roaches during the day, it's bad. The neighbors are noisy and car alarms are constantly beeping. You report it and the staff does nothing. The apartment doors don't seal and if there is a smoker on your floor their smoke will fill the hall and drift into your unit. Not only do they not care, but they are down right rude, plain and simple. If you ask them for anything you are disrupting them and interrupting their day. This is the worst run place and no one cares. The rent is inexpensive, but cheep doesn t begin to explain these conditions. I tell you, it's like living in a Third World Country.

call the management company if your bldg management is not helping you or is rude to you. i've found the larger company office to be very helpful and polite-so be proactive.
signs are posted to remind people to put trash in the chutes, mgt can do little to enforce that, and little to help with the car alarm issue. the alarm problem might be a 'public nusaince' issues to take up with the local political body.
most apts, and many condos, have pest issues, so that's not uncommon, you just do your best do deal with it in addition to whatever your property mgt can do, and don't assume it's going to be better somewhere else. even people in private homes often have pest issues at some point -ants, termites, etc.
you most definately are not living like a 'third world country' if you have a place to live with heat/ac, water, etc. that's quite idiotic of you to say!

You are probably paid by the management somehow, probably you work at the complex or you found a way ti live with roaches and other bugs- not to mention noises through out the weeeeeee hours of the night. There must be idiots with car alarms who don't understand how to turn it off -OMG. You can see roaches crawling on the walls and carpet on the hallway, why don't MGT remove the 50 year old carpets on the hallway and put tiles....probably will help with the bugs HU....I have reported problems many times and all i m told is to contact the d@m manager, who is always not here??????......Yeh the place is a little cheap but for another 100 or 200 you can get a great place and dont have to deal with this mess. Most large buildings do have bugs BUT guess what if you close your door and keep it clean you will never have a bug, unlike here you would have to duck tape you doors and windows and vents to prevent the lifelong partners of southern towers aka roaches from entering your apartment. is there any rules to prevent idiots employees who have been probably brain washed to STOP posting on sites like this. fyi I got screwed because i got tempted with the price, never again my friend never again.

I'm sorry that has been your experience, but my husband and I have been living here since August 2008, and we have none of those problems. You should probably move on our floor/building. I have no links to management, mark you, but I just want you to know that your stated situation is not a blanket situation at all. In fact, we intend to stay here for a few more years.

I equally agree that this has not been my experience. The front has not been rude to me, ever. Did you say or do something wrong? Perhaps you are so upset about everything that you feel is unsatisfactory that you are too upset to realize that they do truly care about your situation. Apartment living is NOT ideal, it's sharing a buildling with many others... Problems are going to be present. This place, however, is NOT bad.
