I lived in the summit from 2001 to 2004. It was very well maintained and cared for by the maintenance staff. The security needs to be upgraded as the general area security declines. A 24/7 on site security service should be hired to protect the residences from the rising crime in the area. Based solely personal opinion, vandalism, gangs and other undesirable crime elements continue to increase operation in the area. Additionally, the fire departments uses South Reynolds st. as a shortcut between duke and etsell, so the noise is very loud.
However, if you are on the 3rd floor and only have one car parked in the underground parking, you should be fine. However, do not expect to take many nightly walks without being accosted.
Additionally, you can choose not to interact with your neighbors or you can get to know them. In general most personnel in the summit keep to themselves and do not make efforts to get to know others.
