Hello dumb and dumbers

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2009

I have been at this apartment for six years. I don't want to repeat the same issues that the other people listed here already, such as poor management issues, leaking windows, parking pass, safety, ongoing construction for last two years, frequent elevator stops, more frequent water cut, and missing packages..
I have tried to ignore the issues because I was out of town frquently for my job. Whenever I have problem at my unit, I took care of it by myself or ask the maintenance guy that I personally know. I have been at this place so long, so did not want to waste my time with management. Requesting maintenance, waiting for three to five days, nothing happens, being frustrated, calling at front desk, getting responded the same answers "since everything is on the system, so just wait," after seveal phone calls and argueing with dumb ass then finally make them move their lazy butt.. Come on, why do I repeat this stupid process every single freaking time' So I just decided to fix my unit problem, and take care of all maintenance issues. Hey, thank you for improving my home improvement skills!
Well, I could continue to avoiding unpleasant time to deal with the management if I did not get "eviction letter" from stupid leasing office on December 10. Did I miss the rent' Hell NO! I have paid my rent on time, and they even cashed out on December 9. I checked my bank account and printed out the proof. Calling and calling for three days, finally I could talk to our cute new assistant manager. As you know, it is extremely hard to contact someone at management office unless you're new tenants-to-be. For brief, conversation with that assistant manager was vey unpleasant. He was rude, not professional AT ALL, and was very defensive. He even accused me for his mistake. Finally he said, just ignore the letter, and nothing's his fault because he just printed out whatever in the "system." I believe that anyone working at the management office should know how to read and write. Of course some simple math that we learned at elementary school. I don't think you need Ph.D degree for record keeping and customer services. However, I could understand that you may spend hard time to learn the management, but poor customer services and being rude to the tenants are not acceptible, especially after issuing the eviction letter to the tenants who paid their rents. Unfortunately, this is not first time, and I know some people who have had the same experiences.
I'll check my credit report in case this stupid management mess up my credit. It's really sad. Whenever new management team comes, we get dumber one. This time, they are not just dumb, but also rude and unprofessional.
Merry Christmas, dumb and dumber.

It has taken us six months to rid the apartment of mice. Call management, they have contractors who have the expertise to get rid of them. However, close all holes within your apartment, particularly around water pipes, stove connection, and dishwater connection. Also check within closets for holes including bathrooms.

This is the first we heard this year that the mice were back. We had a lot of trouble last year with them. We had hoped some new trash receptacles would do the trick. Obviously not. What you aren't posting is on what floor you live on. I'm on the 11th and haven't had a problem. Ants are a different story. I have ant traps still set out from last year. But I haven't seen any of them yet. And they were pretty smart ants too. I watch them deliberately go around the ant traps that were set out. I have looked around this website at other apartments in the area within several miles. We aren't the only ones with ants and roaches, so it may not be specific to us. The mice, I believe, are. ADDEDUM to jessmj. I am refering to posts on this board which I check regularly. No one was posting about recent mice problems since the fall. |

Since the fall, I moved out aroung Feb 07. That is one of the main reasons that I moved was because of mice and ants. I was very clean all the time. I would see dropping in the kitchen and living room. After I moved and checked my draws there was some dropping in there. How I can't tell you.I caught 3 and had enough. I think the building is infested with the,. Once high-risers get infested with mice there is nothing you can really do about it. The have tons of babies at one time. Good luck, I couldn't take it any more. I had kids to that was enough.

The mice were here and were very real. The reason it has been quiet is due to the Fall, but now that Spring has rolled around, let's see what happens. The City of Alexandria Code Enforcement office demanded that Aventine get the trash situation straight under the C building. If some of you have never gone through that building's garage (cause you enter through A), you should!

It is clear they have no idea how to run this building or keep it filled. I would not be surprised if they tried to sell this place since I'm sure they are losing money. I bet these buildings are less than 50% occupied. For every one that is moving in, there are at least two-three that are planning to move out within 60 days. My prayers go the residents. My middle finger goes to management.

I received a renewal letter from the management office today, indicating that they increase lease $70.00. Plus, they will charge us parking fee from the April 1, which is the amount of $25.00. So the actual increase will be $95.00 per month. Adding my current utilities, I found out that I can live at luxury apartment with indoor/outdoor pool at Ballston area or the Old Town paying the same amount money after increase. I'm getting out of here. I have no reason to pay over $1700 for this joke.

be thankful you have only caught at most 6 mice. me and my husband have lived here since june of 08 and have caught at least 15 to 20 mice. we have had the pest people come in numerous times and it does absolutely no good. to make matters worse the stupid mice are posioning our dogs. within the past month and a half we have spent over 1100 dollars in vet bills. we finally have our vet writing a letter that says the mice situation is directly responsible for our pets ongoing medical issues and they are finally offering to rip out our cabinets since the holes are behind those. if the new cabinets dont solve the problem then they will move us to a new apartment. i freakin havent even lived here a year and now im going to end up moving all my freakin stuff again. plus the nosie issue is absolutely horrible. we live in builing b and they are currently doing construction on the outside of our building. well, i thought they said that it would only be going on during the weekdays but for some reason we have freakin -------- singing outside of our window monday-saturday all day. you well for them to shut the hell up and they sing louder. and let me say they are no american idol canidates. i should at least be able to enjoy some freakin peace and quite on the weekends.

I pay 1444 for a one bedroom with den and 1.5 baths. No mice, no construction in garage, so they are done. If you are not in construction, you've no idea what it takes for garages- creating the frame to pour concrete, concrete curing, having the building supported while it cures, finishing, painting the columns, numbers, and parking spaces, putting in the sprinkler system- through concrete. Each batch must be made fresh, tested, and torn down if the tests indicate so (which happens almost a 1/4 of the time). Please be considerate how difficult it is to build underground too. One year for parking garage extention and renovation? Pretty normal. Good for some areas.
