Long(er) story short

You need a certified check to pay when you sign the lease which wouldn t have been a problem, except that a number of things suddenly came up days before we were supposed to move and we simply could NOT get to the bank before they closed. My boyfriend talked to the assistant manager on the phone, and thought he said we could move in on Sunday and take care of all the paperwork on Monday.

We hire movers and move all day Sunday. We show up to the Aventine in the late afternoon. Suddenly, they refused to give us the keys! We had nowhere to go. No place to sleep, no place to put our stuff, and no way to find a storage unit on a Sunday night. Due to a miscommunication, the Aventine WOULD RATHER SEND US OUT ON THE STREET than hold a personal check for a night until we could get a certified one. They ran our credit twice. They knew we had good financial standings. They knew where we would be in the morning. What could they have lost' There was NO reason why they had to send us out on the street. I burst into tears, and all the Aventine did was say we can t help you.

It cost us 700 dollars to have the movers keep store stuff in their warehouse and deliver it the next day, then another 120 for a hotel room. Needless to say, from the time we woke up to the time the movers arrived to deliver our things, we searched frantically for a new place to live. I just couldn t understand how someone could do that to another human being. How can you cast someone out on the street and feel good about sleeping in your bed at night' The management at the Aventine is EVIL. Thank GOD we didn t sign that lease. If they are so heartless before we even move in what horrors could they do to us once we signed our lives away for a year'

Luckily, we found an AMAZING apartment right next door! Go to 3001 Park Center Drive Apartments. They have beautiful apartments at good prices but the best part is the staff. I have NEVER met a group of people so friendly, accommodating, understanding, and helpful. Even the manager was just amazing. The atmosphere in these apartments is SO different from the Aventine. It s seriously like a big family. Come knock on my door and we can tell Aventine horror stories! :o) I am actually thankful the Aventine screwed us over, because they helped us find our home!
