Do not move here, you will be sorry.

Management has changed but they will not give you straight answers when going on tours. Go outside and ask the construction workers how long they will be here. Management lied to me about the extent and time period of the renovations.

The AC does not work period. I have had it set on 60 all summer long and the lowest it has gotten is 71. Also, The thermostat is directly under the vent. Meaning that were my couch or desk is located it will be 75 to 80 degrees. Since everyone pays a portion of the bill you will be paying for AC which you won't receive.

The elevators are a constant problem. Some days it might take 15 minutes just to get downstairs. They are always broke and construction workers hog them.

Parking is OK, except for the fact that there are multiple thefts, including mine. There are cameras everywhere but like everything else in this place they don't work.

I was very interested in the weight room. During the tour it caught my attention and was one of the reasons I moved here. However, It is constantly misused, no one cleans up after themselves, kids are frequently in there playing, and they don't have any pins for the machines. You can give your idea to the front desk, who has one pin, but they can leave at a moments notice and put up a memo saying there closed. They have left for the weekend several times locking up my ID w/o any notice.

Don't be fooled by the renovations downstairs. Sure they are nice but I would rather have an AC that worked than a pool table and theatre.

I a simple person, not a complainer, I just want to warn anyone that is seriously considering this place. The nice things posted are more than likely posted by management. If you read carefully you can pick up on some of the things said that would give clues to who wrote it.

Before moving in you should bring up all the issues posted in these ratings and question the sales person about it. I did not spend my time writing this to vent. I did this to keep someone else from making the same mistake.

I have been here a little longer, but agree completely with everything you have said! I wonder what is going on with the people who say things are fine. The maintenance will tell you that the AC is working fine if it is blowing air that is 65 degrees AT THE VENT. The problem is that one vent blowing at 65 doesn't mean the temperature in the room is 65! In an east facing apartment full of windows the temperature rises constantly the whole day! I have tried to explain that to them, but they seem to not understand. We saw our same apartment that we moved into 3 months before move in and were told certain renovations would be done when we moved in. They weren't complete until 9 months later. Not to mention that we chose the apartment in part because of the security yet after we moved in the 24 hour security patrol stopped, the garage doors are constantly open and the building is completely accessible to whoever wanders in. The 24 hour desk has also started closing overnight and have several times closed early. The leasing agents are not honest at all! The made a lot of promises that haven't been kept. They also told us that we could grill on the balcony due to the "concrete construction" of the building, a big selling point for my husband, yet we recently got a threatening memo saying that it is a fire hazard and WE will be fined by the fire marshall for keeping grills on the balcony, not just using, but keeping at all. They seem so helpful until they get that lease signed and then you can't even get your calls returned!

A/C is a problem because 1. the thermostats in many rooms are old and don't work right, and 2. all are misplaced. Putting them by the porch door gives inaccurate readings, especially if the sun in shinning on them. On the plus side, for the first time in years, the negative air vents in the bathrooms are back on. This means the air from the a/c is being sucked through the apartment. This keeps down the mold, and does a better job at keeping a level temperature. Elevators were last replaced about 10 years ago. Need major overhaul which may be planned, but will take consderable time. Garage problem will always be a problem. This is a high target area for criminals because we are two blocks from I-395 allowing an easy escape route. Park away from the doors. Hopefully, if they ever finish the repairs, the doors will be locked 24-7 again. Weight machine pins are always being taken by the resident users. We would be better off with machines where the pins are attached to the machines. But I don't trust anything the management says either.

The Fire Marshall last name "KING" told me herself that they (the city of alexandria fire and rescure) can do nothing about grilling on the patios since the building is a non combustible construction. Now new management has a problem with it for some reason but folks they can not call the fire marshall on you for barbecuing there is no law against it in our type of building that is why it had been allowed here forever since the building had first been built.

I've grilled dozens of times since they started saying we couldn't and will continue to do so since that is one of the features that hooked me into renting here. Anyone stupid enough to rent here after reading all of these posts deserves what they get. This place makes me angry whenever I drive home. On the few occasions that I've seen the leasing zoo crew take a potential resident on a tour I've made it my business to warn them. I love the response from leasing!
