our kitchen has flooded for the 4th time this year. the first time was during last january and we ended up having to come out of pocket for a hotel because the goofy people at the front desk could not and did not accommodate us with a hospitality apartment. no refund has ever been in sight for us, either, despite asking over 10 times and writing letters. large industrial fans to dry the floors sucked up our electric bill, strange people were in and out of the place all day, leaving our door open, and we were unable to enjoy the quiet or possession of the unit. the situation could have been fixed when we first complained about the water in the sink filling quickly when the garbage disposal was used, but management ignored the situation. because management chose not to take action, the kitchen flooded on 2 other occassions after that and then tonight, which is the worst it ever has flooded. at no other point has the carpet been replaced or thoroughly cleaned by management, as i have had to come out of MY pocket to do this after their appliances failed to function properly and inconvenienced me. my place smells like mildew and rancid old food and i have an event to plan for next weekend, but can't now, no matter how much preparation i make. i just don't have the time and this incident has added more stress to the situation than we need. i anticipated trying to get my place together as best i could this week, but now i cannot because i have recently been bombarded with fruit flies and to no surprise, they were hovering all around the sink prior to tonight's 4th water explosion. my eyes are burning from the stench of the rancid water and i have been busy trying to get numbers for the city of alexandria so the inspectors can come out here to see what i have been complaining about. i have been successful and hopefuly tomorrow, i can get some things scheduled before i leave town on business this weekend. i am tired, upset, and mad as hell because this should NEVER happen, especially 4 times this year. i am on pins and needles regarding what ----------- in leasing will have to say about this. she has heard from me before about this issue, the other 3 times when the kitchen sink exploded, but she has done nothing to accommodate me. i just want her to deny me once more, so that i can use my clout as an attorney to get this mess settled. i never wanted to use it before, but i could have, seeing that i work for the number one litigation firm in washington, dc. however, i think this time that tonight's events are the straw that broke the camel's back and i have a gut feeling that we will not be accommodated. the aventine of alexandria has serious issues and i am not one who complains about every little thing. however, what has been going on in my kitchen is more than a notion and prompt attention from he city of alexandria or some other governing body might be the thing that is needed to ensure that this kind of thing might be prevented in other units--especially when the tenant explains about a serious issue like severe plumbing issues and water damage that makes a unit uninhabitable. i have lived in this building since 2004.

LOL! "clout as attorney" "top litigation firm" Are you really gonna waste a billable hour on this place? You are funny. ABaing an attorney is DC means nothing. We are all attorneys.

abnguy; are you the same person who is writing on the walls and tearing down the wallpaper? If I catch the little punks responsible I'm gonna stand there and make them fix it. I will even purchase the materials just to watch them do it. I find it very aggravating that I pay to live in this dump and there are people living here that would try to make it dumpier. The pencil on the walls and defacing of signs on the property just adds to this eye sore.
