Years at this apartment: 1994 - 1994
I lived at Seminary Forest (when it was Seminary Forest) from 1986 until 2005 (when I found out they were being bought). Carol Salvas and Georgie Haley weren't the greatest managers in the world but at least they cared about their tenants (or pretended to). However, the three stooges that they have in their now -- I'm talking about Jose, Crystal (who, by the way, happens to be Janet Lovelace's daughter) and Janet Lovelace are downright rude and obnoxious and pretend to know what they're doing. They don't hide the fact that they think they're better than you are, too. Guess what, it's the tenants that pay their salary. Speaking of tenants, they're aren't very many there because they kicked everybody out and they treated the tenants like garbage. Word must have gotten around because I drive by those apartments every day on the way home from work. First of all, the only buildings that are inhabitable are the two at the top of Seminary Road -- 4617 and 4619. I don't know how many people are living in those two buildings. I see a few people living down by the pool but basically 98% of those units are vacant. Those units by the pool haven't even begun to be "renovated" yet. It's been almost two years since they said they were going to be renovating (in fact, they told us that renovations to the entire complex would be completed within one year) and ONLY two buildings (4617 and 4619 Seminary) have been completely renovated. The remainder of all the buildings are in some state of "renovation". Some apartments you can see right through because the walls have been knocked out. They're just sitting there. I heard that they ran out of money because nobody wanted to rent there. Also, I know that they found asbestos in some of the buildings. Is this why no work is being done on these units. No wonder no one wants to rent there -- they've turned a once nice community into a shambles with no immediate hope of renovation to the other units. Would you want to pay $1,200 for a one bedroom (or $1,600 for a two bedroom) to look out on a construction site' I don't think so.
They treated the long time residents with virtually no respect, first raising the rents, then kicking them out. Maintenance' Don't get me started with that one. They fired all the decent maintenance people who were there when it was Seminary Forest. All of the decent office staff were also fired.
