I've lived at the Encore for about 2 years now. They've gone through two management staffs since then. For the first that I've lived here, they now have a staff that KNOWS what they're doing. The Property Manager, Assistant Manager and even the two leasing guys are all brand new. My stuff finally gets fixed on time and you can tell the moral at the community is much better. I have left posts in the past about how the community is just so so, but it is finally coming along to be a luxury community. Can't wait for the club house to go up.

Are you an employee or a real tenant? Hmm.... Anyway, I'm a prospective tenant so I'm wondering what is your honest opinion regarding the parking, noisy floors, and lack of insulation? It seems like that's a common complaint for a lot of the tenants. I just want to know before I make a decision.

Ugh, I absolutely hate this place. To me, it's not luxury, it is the worst place I have ever lived in. The apartment is in a convenient area, but for the money, I would look elsewhere. Parking is not an issue until there is not enough room in front of another building and then they take up our parking spaces. The management STILL does not know what they are doing. I'm glad some people get everything fixed on time, because I've been waiting for months to get my outlets fixed and the people upstairs still don't have the common courtesy to go to bed at a decent time. This area is also not kid-friendly. We are moving ASAP when we find another apartment. To say the least, hands down the worst place!!

I've been living here a while too. I don't think its nearly as bad as some of these responses are. The new staff is new, but you can tell that they actually care. I've called up a couple times with normal issues, and they actually follow up with me now. I've lived in six different places in Alexandria and I can tell you as long as they don't raise rent to something crazy, i'll be staying.

While I've only been at The Encore for less than a month, I am VERY happy with the place. The only problems that people are complaining about are ones that you will have ANYWHERE. To the person who said about the neighbors upstairs not going to bed at a "decent" hour...well who are you to decide what time of THEIR day is decent for YOU? They may not work the same hours as you and need to get things done on their schedule. I know personally I work in college sports and some days don't even get home from work until 10 or 11 p.m. Am I not supposed to clean, or do laundry, or take my dogs out because YOU might be sleeping?
For the person asking about the halls. Yes, they do echo, and my dogs go nuts from time to time, but hey, that's what I get for having two dogs and living in an apartment. If you don't like it...MOVE...BUY A HOUSE...no one is forcing you to live here.

The managemnt is fine. Noise is to be expected living in an apartment but when, it is comming from your front door, your up stairs neighbors (all of them), your two next door neighbors and the conversatios of others outside. It is a bit much! These walls are not insulated. Managment trying to fix the floor boards of the apartment above us, but it sounds the same.
