I have lived here for ten months and I have been pleased overall. I am writing this review because I am in the process of deciding where to go when my lease runs out, and while looking at reviews for the Metropolitan at Alexandria I saw thatsome of these posts are WAY to negative. Hopefully this review will actually help someone.

I like the fact that the apartments are very new (mine was brand new), very clean, and the grounds are excellent (especially if you have a dog). The parking garage is nice, and the overall feel of the complex is a good one. I walk to the metro every day (12-15 minute walk) which is great. The apartments are about two blocks from 495 and 95 which is excellent, and only about two miles from 395. It would be difficult to beat this location for the price and quality of the complex.

The biggest problem I have had in my stay here was the package delivery service. However, they have improved their system and this is no longer an issue. I have had pleasant experiences with Staff, although they have not gone out of their way to accomodate me (nor should they necessarily). The two times I had to call maintenance they responded quickly and fixed the problems immediately.

One thing to consider is that I get almost no cell phone coverage in my apartment. While this may sound minimal to some, I use my cell phones in place of a land line, and this apartment is a hole for coverage.

This place is pricey, but I also feel it provides a good value for the price. I must admit, when I first looked here, the Sales Rep. told me about several services (one thing she told me was they would come by and walk my dog were I going to be late getting home or something) that flat out don't exist. Be wary of the promises they make, as some of them are bound to simply be part of the sales pitch. I am considering renewing my lease and I would recommend it to those who aren't pressed for money. If the cost of rent at the Metropolitan is at the top of your price range, you may feel like you are not getting what you pay for (if that makes any sense).

I hope this review has been helpful in some way.
