My fiance and I have lived at the Metropolitan for almost a year and have loved every minute of it. The apartments are beautiful...9 foot ceilings, black countertops with cherry cabinets and black appliances, huge rooms, large bathtubs, etc.
The community as a whole is quite nice, as well. As you can read in other people's reviews, the clubhouse has everything you could want from an indoor basketball court to a business center (which helps save a little cash by not having to have the internet in your apt) to a swimming pool to a billards room.
From our experience, this isn't a great place to meet people, as everyone tends to do their own thing, which was fine for us. But, the people we have encountered were very friendly for the most part.
I only have a few grudges with this place...due to the high ceilings and open floor plan, our heating and A/C bills have been much higher than we averaged at other apts. The heat and A/C never seem to shut off because it takes forever to heat/cool the huge rooms! I guess that's a price you pay for the luxury of vaulted ceilings. In addition, the ceilings are not very well insulated, as we hear everything our neighbors do upstairs (although, they may just be really noisy). My last grudge is that management decided to increase rent significantly and no longer offer the 10% DoD discount to us. That combined has made the rent more than we care to pay, so we are looking elsewhere to live once our lease is up. If the rent didn't increase and we still received our discount, we would definitely renew our lease because we love our apt!!
If anyone has any questions about the community, feel free to email me at linerniner9@aol.com (I promise I don't work here!). aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb
