I am on the top floor and have heard very little noise from neighbors other than a rare late-night party. My unit is quite nice, other than the following:
1) The carpet installers were lazy and didn't tack down the carpet properly in certain areas.
2) The refrigerator is 2 cu ft smaller than the one in the model unit.
3) The oven temperature fluctuates too much and makes baking frustrating - I had to buy a thermometer and silicon baking sheet, and must turn what I am baking midway.
4) The dryer has three temperature: fluff, high, and extra-high - what happened to "medium"' It's hard on clothing to always be dried on high heat.

Other than those issues, I am quite happy with my unit. I love the enormous bathroom, deep tub, spacious laundry room. I literally did all my research online when I was looking for an apartment, including this website, and Jefferson was the only place I looked at.

As far as the community, I have two issues:

1) The distance to the Van Dorn metro is way underestimated in the Apartment Rental Guide - it's .8 (mostly unpleasant) miles from the nearest point you can exit the unit at if walking vs the .5 miles claimed in the Apartment Guide. When I brought this up to the management, I was accused of not doing my "due diligence" - the implication being it's ok to lie when describing your apartment community, as long as the tenant makes the effort to find out if you are being truthful or not. But I've dealt with it.
2) The location of the dumpsters is not exactly convenient especially for those of us who commute to work. There is however for about $25/mo a Valet Waste Service company which will pick up your garbage twice weekly - worth every penny for me!

Other than that, it's fine. I think I made a good choice in moving here.
