My husband and I lived at the Jefferson back when it was all rentals, from Oct 2002-April 2005. It was horrible then and from the comments here appears to be a lot worse now. We had EVERY appliance break on us at least once. We had to call at least two times to get someone up to fix things. And when they did fix it, it was NEVER right on the first try. We had no heat one Christmas and all they did was give us a space heater until after the weekend.

We left the Jefferson just before it went condo in that ridiculous condo craze. We moved to Millbrook at Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. We moved into the portion that is now called Townsquare and is all townhouses and only paid a bit more for an entire TOWNHOUSE with a two car garage! I recommend checking out Millbrook/Townsquare. It is now two properties. Townsquare is the portion with townhouses and manor homes. Millbrook has garden/walkup stairs apartments, ones with elevators up, mass (not individual) garage parking underneath some of the apartment buildings with assigned spaces for some of the apartments, or apartments without garage parking. Then the Townsquare side has the various townhouses which my husband always called "Disney" because of the perfectly matching street lamps, etc. The community is gated and had a lovely pool and bigger workout center and Sports Center with indoor racquetball and basketball courts. There is a security patrol and access to the nearby Mark Winkler Nature Preserve. WE ARE MUCH HAPPIER HERE!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER MOVE TO THE JEFFERSON or whatever they are calling themselves these days.

I work in HR for the DoD and I often recommend places for my new fresh out of college professionals to move to and I always tell them not to go to the Jefferson/Ridgeleigh for their own safety and money!!
