I've lived here for about a year now and I'm fairly pleased with Ridgeleigh. I regret not seeing the exact apartment before moving in. As a result, we had to live with a few annoying cosmetic issues (glued on counter-tops, closet shelves that don't hold much weight, and a fridge door that doesn't stay closed).
However, the leasing office is very friendly and maintenance makes an appearance within 24 hours. Our main problem with the apartment is the heat. For months we called the office to have them fix the thermostat. They keep sending someone, but it still doesn't regulate the temperature. After awhile, I gave up calling. Therefore, we have to manually turn the heat on when it's cold, and off when it's hot, but at least we have heat.
The parking here has gotten much better. They recently gave out parking tags (two per unit) and they now tow non-residents. They do have a decent size visitor lot, so you don't have to worry about that.
Since we weren't from the area, Ridgeleigh was good for us. We felt safe, the complex was clean, the staff was helpful, and the location was great. However, now that I know the DC area better we're looking in Maryland because the rent is much lower.
